Discover the Duke of Burgundy

Join the National Trusts butterfly expert to explore the curious world of one of Britain’s smallest and most rapid declining butterflies, the Duke of Burgundy.  How did His Grace get his name, what makes him tick, why is he a vicious little thug and what’s herself up to?

The Ivinghoe Hills holds one of the strongest colonies of this fascinating butterfly.

Matthew Oates is an expert on His Grace.  Also look out for other butterflies such as the Dingy Skipper, Grizzled Skipper and Brown Argus.
