WhizzFizzFest, formerly known as Aylesbury WhizzFizzing Festival, will bring Aylesbury town centre to life with a riot of colour and music on Saturday 30 June.
From 11am to 5.30pm, this unique family arts event celebrates children’s literature through visual art, music, words and huge carnival puppets.
This year’s theme is Magic and Mystery and will kick off, in grand tradition, with a parade involving hundreds of local school age children from across Aylesbury Vale.
Headlining this year will be ballerina extraordinaire, Dame Darcey Bussell, who is overseeing a spectacular Magic of the Dance competition, as well as performing in a warm-up routine with her dancers.
Adding a dusting of gold to the glittering day will be Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill who will be answering questions in a Q&A session about her sporting achievements and her new career as an author.
Tony Hadley will also be spreading some magic and mystery in his very own question & answer session. Come along and discover more as he chats about his love of music and the inspiration behind his new album.
We are also delighted to welcome four well-known children’s authors, David Solomons, Andrew Clover, Andy Riley and Steve Antony, to this magical day! They will be providing entertainment for the whole family as you listen to their stories, ask questions and take away a few tips on how to create characters yourself.
All authors, including Dame Darcey Bussell and Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, will be available to sign copies of their latest books at Waterstones bookshop during the day.
Entry to the festival is free, however tickets are required for some of these events. Visit www.whizzfizzfest.org.uk to book and to find out more about this amazing family friendly festival!
