Pitstone Quarry is a disused chalk quarry on the edge of the village at Pitstone Church End. This large site is rich in wildlife and wildflowers, making it a beautiful place to visit.
We will explore areas of grassland and scrub to see some of our spring butterflies and other wildlife. We hope to find Dingy Skipper, Small Blue and day-flying moths such as Burnet Companion.
Accessibility & risks: The paths are unmade but mostly level except for one slope, though they can be slippery if wet. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)
Meet by Pitstone Church at the South of the village, please park carefully.
