Update from the National Trust: We are receiving a few emails and social media posts about the closure of Pitstone Hill Car Park. Some people feel that this is against the recent guidance that people may drive to the countryside to take exercise. Just to be clear, that guidance was given to the police, in order to help them to determine what is and what isn’t an acceptable reason to travel. The guidance to land owners from the government remains unchanged: all car parks capable of holding 25 cars or more should be closed wherever possible to deter visits. We are very grateful to everyone who is heeding the advice to walk from their homes wherever possible and we look forward to being able to welcome people back to our places when it is safe to do so.
