Work to replace the slide in the Windsor Road playground is due to commence next week

Creative Play hope to commence the work next week (w/c 2 February 2026) to remove the old slide in the Windsor Road playground (which has reached the end of its life as the legs have rusted through and can’t be replaced) and replace it with this new Jigsaw Tower Slide.

The slide area will be fenced off with heras fencing for approximately two weeks whilst the work is undertaken, the new wet pour surfacing laid, the independent inspection takes place, and it is certified as ready for use. Please ensure your children keep out of the work area during this period of time.

The contractors hope to leave as much of the playground still accessible as possible. The Hever Close, Tun Furlong and Recreation Ground play grounds are obviously still available for your use as well.

This work is being partially funded by a release of Section 106 developer contributions provided by Croudace. The remainder is funded from monies accrued by the parish council towards the upkeep of the playgrounds.

We look forward to sharing with you when the new equipment is available to play on!
