Litter picking and litter bin emptying

The parish council employs two part time staff to litter pick from the residential roads (where we have delegated authority from Buckinghamshire Council), recreation ground and playgrounds (within the ownership of the parish council).  We also provide numerous litter bins around the village and in our play areas, which our litter pickers empty on a regular basis.

Westfield Road and the industrial estate, along with the majority of Castlemead, remain the responsibility of Taylor Wimpey.  However, the council staff litter pick these areas monthly.

If you are interested in litter picking on a voluntary basis, in areas outside our ownership (such as land within National Trust ownership like the Windmill Field and Pitstone Hill), then you might like to visit this website: https://litteraction.org.uk/pitstone-ivinghoe-pickers
