Grade II Listed Building Project – can you help?

Volunteers needed to help with a new National Heritage Project

The AVDC Heritage Team, working in partnership with English Heritage, are pleased to announce that they will soon be embarking upon a comprehensive Grade II Listed Building Survey across the District, to help inform a strategy for Buildings at Risk in the future.

This survey will be undertaken as part of the National Heritage at Risk Grade II Project – a national initiative led by English Heritage.

The aim of the project is to train local volunteers up to survey important historic buildings in their area, and to monitor those buildings to make sure that they are not falling into disrepair.

AVDC would like to invite all interested local residents, Parish and Town representatives and amenity societies to help us with the project, which will be taking place between now and April 2015.

To kick start the programme, AVDC are hosting a free half day seminar on Wednesday 22nd October 2014, where you can learn more about the project and the way in which we can secure the future of important historic buildings.
