Application to define our ‘neighbourhood’

Pitstone parish council has applied to Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC), as our planning authority, for the designation of the whole of our parish as a neighbourhood area.

This would enable the parish to produce a neighbourhood plan, which would give our residents a voice in the future development of the parish – not just housing, but education, leisure, employment & protection of our community assets etc.

AVDC will now commence a 6 week consultation period which will run from 22 September until 3 November 2014.  You will see the consultation in the local press and the AVDC web site.

The parish council will need the help and commitment of everyone in the parish to produce a neighbourhood plan as they can’t be prepared by a council alone.  If you have been worried about school or pre-school capacities, the number of proposed residential developments or a lack of facilities, now will be the time to speak up and get involved.   The parish council will shortly be distributing some literature to all households and erecting notices, giving you more information and telling you how you can get involved.

Attached you will find a copy of our application letter and the associated parish map.
