Our more descriptive Annual Report and Accounts for 2024/2025 which provides you with a better idea of the projects undertaken and funding received, will be added in due course, and will also be published in Pitstone Parish Post and hand delivered to all homes & businesses in the parish.
Please note that the accounts are currently ‘unaudited’. Parish Councils go through three layers of audit each year. The first layer is undertaken by members of the parish council and its staff. The second layer is an ‘internal audit’ undertaken by independent experts appointed by the parish council – in our case this is IAC Ltd. Finally, the accounts and supporting documents are submitted to an external auditor appointed to the parish council, – in our case this is PKF Littlejohn LLP. As our income/expenditure exceeded £200k this year, the council will be subject to an intermediate level review. Only following the third layer of audit, are the accounts declared ‘audited’.
Therefore, the clerk/RFO (Mrs Laurie Eagling), hereby declares that the accounting statements are unaudited and that the accounting statements, as published, may be subject to change.
A further post will follow upon conclusion of the external audit. Please see the separate posts for full details of the council’s various levels of audit and additional supporting financial information.
Please find above, a training video showing how to use a public access defibrillator. Please take a few moments to watch the video and familiarise yourself with the equipment. You do not need to be a trained medic to use a defibrillator, it will give you voice prompts throughout. We also hold periodic training events, which we’d encourage you to try and attend.
If a loved one suffers a cardiac arrest, the aim is to commence treatment within the first 5 minutes. The Stoke Mandeville ambulance service is located approximately 25 minute journey time from the village. Being able to use a defibrillator in the event of an incident, before the ambulance arrives, will significantly improve the patients chance of survival.
24/7 Public Access Defibrillators are currently located at:
You can find more information on the defib finder website: Defib finder – find the defibrillators nearest you.
All units are registered to The Circuit so they are visible, and their maintenance status is known, to the ambulance and paramedic services. The ambulance service will direct you to the nearest defibrillator in the event of an emergency and provide you with the access code for the cabinet. Being familiar with the location of your nearest unit will help you feel confident to access it.
The parish council owns and maintains the defibrillator at the pavilion. We also part funded the units at the Memorial Hall and Village Health Centre, both of which are now maintained by those organisations.
NEW (March 2025):
We would like to extend our thanks to Colbree Engineering Group for their support and assistance with permitting a public access defibrillator to be mounted on the wall outside their front door. The parish council was awarded 50% grant funding for this unit via London Hearts and the central government defibrillator grant stream. This unit will be cared for and maintained by the parish council. This new location will probably be your nearest if you work within the business park or live at the top end of Castlemead, so please familiarise yourself with its location.
We would also like to extend our thanks to Rothschild House Surgery for their support and assistance with permitting a public access defibrillator to be mounted on the wall of surgery, as you enter via the path/drive it is immediately on your left hand side. The parish council was awarded 50% grant funding for this unit via London Hearts and the central government defibrillator grant stream. This unit will be cared for and maintained by the parish council. This new location will probably be your nearest if you reside between the Albion Road & Brookmead school, so please familiarise yourself with its location.
We are currently working on a project to extend the number of defibrillators in the village, which will help ensure that all residents can reach a defibrillator within a few minutes. We hope to install an additional 3 units. We will keep this webpage updated as the project progresses.

Pitstone Community Car Scheme
Provides invaluable assistance to local residents trying to access their healthcare appointments. This scheme is now managed by Pitstone Parish Council who employs the dedicated co-ordinator. The scheme operates using volunteer drivers. Please get in touch, using the details below, if you can spare some time to help a resident get to the doctors/dentist/hospital.
Please contact the Car Scheme Coordinator on 01296 767116 communitytransport@pitstone.co.uk
Community Bus
We have previously investigated whether there is a demand for a community bus to service Pitstone & the neighbouring parishes but expressions of interest were not high enough to support such a scheme and no volunteer drivers came forward. We may review the situation again in the future.
Bus to Tring Station
Investigations continue to see if a viable bus service is possible to the station, at the moment none of the current bus operators are prepared to include this within their routes but Buckinghamshire Council continue to review periodically with them.
Tring Station Lift Share
West Midlands Trains have launched a Lift Share Scheme for Tring Station. It is free to join. You can register as a driver or a passenger to find your car share partners and start saving money on petrol and parking. Simply select the railway stations you use and let them do the rest to help you and the environment.
Station LiftShare is a new online car sharing service available for London Northwestern Railway customers. Customers register their trip to the station and we find a match for people heading in the same direction at similar times or days of the week; whether as a
driver or a passenger. See the leaflet attached for more information.

Pitstone Pavilion
The Pavilion is our community building and football ground. It is the home ground for both the Pitstone & Ivinghoe United Football Club (who play in the Spartan South Midlands League) and the Pitstone & Ivinghoe Junior Football Club (8 of their teams, ranging from under 7’s to under 18’s use the pavilion as their home ground). The community building is also utilised for regular yoga & exercise classes, children’s music classes, council meetings, Pitstone youth café, events/parties/training courses, the over 60’s club, the WI and many other activities and local groups. Over the last year, we estimate that the footfall through the car park has been over 15,000, providing you with good advertising reach across a range of age groups and demographics.
New Opportunity for Forecourt Advertising
Pitstone parish council is pleased to offer a limited number of opportunities for advertisers to place a 2ft x 4ft advertising sign within our car park forecourt at Pitstone Pavilion. Due to physical constraints, this offer is strictly limited.
Your advertising board will be sited along the top of the wooden boundary fence, or along the post and rail fence at the end of the car park. All boards will face into the car park. Our car park is illuminated by floodlights after dark, so your advertising will be visible to all facility users regardless of the time of day they visit.
The Dibond signs are long lasting, durable, waterproof and have excellent print and colour properties to guarantee a professional finish to promote your business. Each sign will last very many years with no loss of quality, so can remain in situ (so long as you don’t want to change the artwork), if you choose to renew your annual advertising, without incurring repeat production costs. We partner with Ambersigns in Berkhamsted who will be happy to accept your finished artwork or help you to design your sign if necessary. Once you are happy with the proof, the sign will be professionally produced and installed by Ambersigns, providing a hassle-free service.
There is a one-off production and installation cost for your 2ft x 4ft Dibond sign of £70 + VAT. The advertising fee to display your advert in our car park forecourt for the first
12 months is just £100 + VAT.
Vinyl Banner Advertising around our Football Pitches
We are also pleased to support businesses who wish to display vinyl advertising banners around the inside of our sports ground. We recommend the banners measure 2ft x 3ft (as seen in the photographs below). We can either procure these for you, in sturdy outdoor vinyl with eyelet holes and cords (please contact us for up-to-date costs), or you can supply your own to this specification if you wish. The Parish Council will mount the signs and monitor them. If your banner remains in good condition at the end of the year, you are welcome to continue using the same banner the following year if you choose to renew your advertising fee. Most existing advertising find good quality banners last many years.
The advertising fee to display your advert around our pitches for the first
12 months is just £250 + VAT.
All proceeds arising from advertising opportunities at the pavilion will be used to improve and maintain the Pavilion grounds and site for the benefit of the whole community.

Advertising spaces are currently available from as little as £15 for a quarter page advert in a single edition. A 10% discount is available for all advertisers that pre-book 4 editions.
Full details of size/price options are available at https://pitstone.co.uk/pppadverts/ or by contacting us on the details below.
